MARCH WEEK 13
This week will cover the last two chapters of Philippians and the first three chapters of Colossians.
Don’t forget to check out the Rooted Facebook page for a bit more discussion on each chapter.
Discussion Questions:
• How does a person “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus?” (Phil. 3:14)
• What kinds of things should we be thinking about? (Phil. 4:8)
• What can you learn from Paul’s prayer for the Colossian believers that you can adopt in your own prayer life? (Col. 1:9-14)
• Who are the rulers and authorities that Jesus disarmed? And how did he do it? (Col. 2:13-15)
• What does it mean that your life is hidden with Christ? Who is at the right hand of God? (Col. 3:1-3)
Some Answers from Last Week's Questions:
• Who are the angels who sinned in 2 Peter 2:4, and what did they do? – They are likely the sons of God who had children with human women in Genesis 6:1-4
• How does Peter say we should live as we wait for the Lord’s return? (2 Peter 3:11-12) – We should live in holiness and godliness, waiting for and speeding the day of His return.
• How does Jude say we should live as we wait for the Lord’s return? (Jude 1:20-21) – We should be growing in our faith, praying with the Spirit, staying connected to the love of God, and waiting for the Lord’s return.
• What does Paul mean by “for me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain?” (Phil. 1:21) How should that apply to us today? – As long as Paul lived in the flesh, he was going to serve Christ, who was his life. But to die was to be with Christ in a much more real way. And that was better than this life. Should we not all have that attitude?
• What does Paul mean when he talks about Jesus emptying himself and taking on the form of a servant? (Phil. 2:7) – He did not become less than God. But he limited himself to being a human.
