OCTOBER  |  WEEK 44

This week, we continue Paul’s letter to the Romans, chapters 6-10. Don’t forget to check out the Rooted Facebook page for a bit more discussion on each chapter.

Discussion Questions:

• What does baptism picture? (Rom. 6:3-4)

• Do you ever feel like Paul in your struggle with sin? (Rom. 7:14-20)

• What does it mean to be a joint heir with Christ? (Rom. 8:17)

• What does it mean that God raised up Pharaoh for a purpose? (Rom. 9:17)

• What is required in order to be saved? (Rom. 10:9-10)

Some Answers from Last Week's Questions:

• Why is not hearing the gospel a valid excuse for not believing in God? (Rom. 1:18-21) – Because God had revealed himself to everyone through the creation.

• What law do the Gentiles have? (Rom. 2:14-16) – Their conscience.

• What does it mean to be justified freely by grace? (Rom. 3:23-24) - God's grace is imputed to us freely and without cost. It is a gift to be received through faith.

• Why did God declare Abraham to be righteous? (Rom. 4:3-5) – Because he believed what God told him. Despite what reason told him.

• Why can we rejoice in our suffering? (Rom. 5:3-5) - Because of what it produces in us: endurance, character, and hope.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the new life and freedom I have through Jesus Christ. Even when I struggle with sin and sometimes fall short, remind me that Your grace is greater than my failures. Help me walk in the power of Your Spirit, trust in Your promises, and live each day as Your beloved child. Strengthen my faith and shape my heart to reflect Jesus in all I do. Amen.
