JUNE/JULY  WEEK 27

This week, we will resume our journey through the book of Isaiah, looking at chapters 40-42. Don’t forget to check out the Rooted Facebook page for a bit more discussion on each chapter.

Discussion Questions:

• Who is the voice crying out in the wilderness? (Isa. 40:3-5)

• Why did weak and helpless Israel have no reason to fear?(Isa. 41:14-16)

• Who is the servant of Isaiah 42:1-9?

Some Answers to Last Week's Questions:

• Who are the princes mentioned in Daniel 10:20-21? – They are angels who have some authority over human kingdoms. Some are evil, and some are good.

• Who or what are the kings of the north and south? (Dan. 11:5-6) – After Alexander the Great died, his kingdom was divided among four of his generals. The kings of the south were from the line of Ptolemy, centered in Egypt. The kings of the north came from Seleucus, centered in Syria.

• What does it mean to shut up and seal the book until the end of time? (Dan. 12:4) – The look into the future was fixed. It was going to happen the way Daniel had been told.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You are bigger than my fears and stronger than my weaknesses. When I feel tired or overwhelmed, help me remember that You renew the strength of those who hope in You. Open my eyes to see Jesus, Your faithful Servant, throughout these chapters, and help me trust that You are always working, even when I can't see it. Teach me to rest in Your promises and walk confidently in Your care today. Amen.
