JULY  |   WEEK 28

This week, we will continue our journey through the book of Isaiah, looking at chapters 43-47. Don’t forget to check out the Rooted Facebook page for a bit more discussion on each chapter.

Discussion Questions:

• What are God’s feelings toward Israel? (Isa. 43:1-4)

• What does Isaiah 44:3-5 appear to point toward?

• Who is being referred to in Isaiah 45:4-6? And what does this say about who God uses?

• What contrast is found in Isaiah 46:1-4?

• Why did God punish Babylon after He had used them to discipline His people? (Isa. 47:5-7)

Some Answers to Last Week's Questions:

• Who is the voice crying out in the wilderness? (Isa. 40:3-5) – John the Baptist (Matt. 3:1-3).

• Why did weak and helpless Israel have no reason to fear? (Isa. 41:14-16) – Because the Lord was their helper. And He would enable them to defeat their enemies.

• Who is the servant of Isaiah 42:1-9? – Jesus. Compare Isaiah 42:7 with Luke 4:16-19.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me by name and reminding me that I am Yours. When I face fear or uncertainty, help me to trust that You are with me and that Your love never fails. Fill me with Your Spirit, shape my heart to follow You, and use my life for Your purposes, just as You have always used ordinary people to accomplish Your extraordinary plans. Keep me from placing my trust in anything that cannot save, and help me rest securely in You alone. Amen.
